Just Write Something

DeathtoStock_Wired3

Most days I can come up with just about anything to write, or talk about. But today of all days when I need to have an assignment done the words evade me. I am at a loss. I haven’t a clue where to go. I am having to a writing for class that is researched and just don’t feel I have adequate information. Do you ever feel there is something missing in your research?

It is a terrible feeling. And I am running out of time to submit this work. My quandary is do I just write something, anything and hope it sticks, or do I try and write the best freaking essay ever? Right now I’d happily settle for nice soft middle ground. You know the place where it has been researched and argued, makes some sense and is well enough to earn a “B.” Yeah, that’s where I’m at right now.

What is even more frustrating is I have spent all day (literally, since 10 am till 6pm thus far) working on this silly assignment to no avail. I think I have 65 words written toward the minimum of 700. Coffee no longer has the effect it once did on me, so there is no looking for caffeine support to get this work done. I have been praying and seeking God throughout the day crying out to HIM asking for help and…nothing!

You may be asking yourself why am I writing a blog post instead of this discussion board assignment, well it is what is on my heart. The words for this are flowing out of me like a river going south(for those of us in USA). I can respond to the assignment but it would not be the required amount of words. It wants to know do I think the days of creation in Genesis 1 are literal or figurative, what is the age of the universe, and is Adam a true historical figure.

I can answer all of those questions in about 150 words which is where the difficulty lies in trying to find the other 550 words to get the assignment done.

So what happens next? I quit screwing around and try to get the words out. Not for just my sake but for Christ’s glory. My ultimate goal is glorifying him. I feel that doing anything less than my best is falsification and not God honoring. I will try and share it with you guys when it’s done.

Question: What do you do when you are stuck on a project?

Mine to. I like to know something needs to be done, but having to do it is the hard part. By God’s grace the words came to me last night and I got more than the minimum. I may post it later today. thanks for the comment.

      God Bless,
      Paul
